As Manuel says they totally bossed it and I’m not sure even playing to our best and with a bit of luck that City wouldn’t just shift up a gear. My biggest gripe is Moyes allows or even encourages other teams to boss it, all this did yesterday was make City’s job far easier. As for our best team, I’m not confident that Moyes will find it unless injury or fate forces it on him.
Also agree with Vexed about Benny, seen enough.
One positive was Moyes looking to change things much earlier. Top of the league for 10 minutes, will be glad to get yesterday and Liverpool done.

Moyes said after the game that we need to give Mo and Dios more time to settle in, fucking broken record. It's a shame Pep didn't think the same with Doku.

Losing doesn’t make us a bad team, City are better than us. We looked good and think that we will get stuffed at Liverpool next week too.
Hopefully we will be in it more, we are fighting for top 6/7 for a reason. There are at the moment 6 better teams
No disgrace, we have won trophy fuck ton more than a lot of others
Expect to do well in cups this year

We did look good in patches and I am pretty optimistic that this season is going to be more like the two before last season rather than a repeat of last season, but it's always shit to lose, especially after leading, and it's definitely not ''fine'' ffs. The reality is Sheff Utd gave them a better game than we did and they have easily had 6, they totally bossed it.

Looking forward to getting Liverpool out the way, and think we will lose again, but after that we can see where we really are. I just wonder now if Moyes has too many options now and he's got himself into a right old pickle not knowing what his best side, formation is.

Thought their were a lot of positives, and Kudos looks like a very exciting player.

But Ings, what is the point? A stupid, stupid signing by Moyes. He needs to be dropped off at Oxfam on Monday morning.

Looked decent for a while but I'm not having all this 'losing to city is ok' shit. They aren't as strong as last season and they had players missing today. They're gonna get turned over a few times by mid table teams this season and our chance to do it was today but sloppiness and shit subs cost us and I'm fucking annoyed about it.

Not sure what Soucek brought to today's game, it must be the equivalent of dribbling round a cone for those city players. Antonio is either an 8/10 or 3/10 there appears to be no in between. Today was the latter and we we don't have a good secondary option for games like this, perhaps Kudus will become that option but I tell you now Ings fuckin aint it. Ben"aaargh"ma as he is more often known frustrates the actual fuck out of me. I want to like him but fucking hell.

Time to blood Bobby Mavro and get Kudus some more game time, we need the options. JWP though, what a signing, should be captain.

As an aside, when Harland got substituted he walked round the pitch, milked the applause from the away end and as he passed us from row 20 in a moment of silence I shouted 'Haarland you fucking freak'.

He looked into the stand, saw me pointing at him and I 'yeah, you Haarland, you big freak' and he looked at the middle aged old cunt who inhabits my body, gave me a thumbs up and laughed as he walked off.

Everyone laughed and I must admit I kind of like him for that. Not only is he a machine he seems like a decent kid.

I was fairly happy with the performance and happy that Moyes attempted to go for it.

Soucek shouldn't have started. We needed someone to retain the ball, not constantly give it away.

But all in all a good day out and a 1v3 defeat after a decent performance vs City is fine.

I hought we played some great football in the first half, Paqueta pulling the strings, hitting them on the break and deservedly went in ahead at half time. we lacked concentration when the second half started and got caught on the hop for their 1st goal which seemed to knock the wind out of our sails. Paqueta seemed anonymous in the 2nd half or maybe Pep changed things around to nullify him,
I thought Moyes actually made some early attack minded substitutions for a change but we couldn't get back into the game. Disappointed at today's result but unusually still optimistic for this season. COYI's

Wouldn’t be overly surprised if Man City didn’t lose a game all season.
They are a the bollocks,
There’s a huge gap between them and everyone else.

Man City totally outclassed us. Huge gulf between us in ability and tactics. Could have been 5 or 6 another day given the chances they had. We don't seem to play any other way.

I saw plenty of positives vs last season today and a few things to worry about.

Paqueta, Alvarez, JWP, and Kudus look excellent and will be too much for many teams.

Coufal was beasted by one of the best new premier players in Doku, but still had enough cojones to bomb forward and set up our goal.

Zouma looks slow, Aguerd is excellent but makes stupid mistakes.

We went head to head with city and caused them problems for parts of today's game. We tackled well and got forward well, but need to seriously look at Soucek, Antonio and Benrahma.

I never thought we’d get anything from the game. At half time I had hope. That was wiped out quickly. Man City grind you down. Utter cunts.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread - Preview
We were too passive, lacked ambition, sat far too deep, let Rodri take the piss all game, didn’t press with any intensity and were too far apart if we did half heartedly press.

When we did bother trying to go forward and show some ambition we scored and showed we could cause problems. City aren’t amazing at the back.

However City didn’t get out of second and didn’t need to, due to how passive and how deep we sat.

Areola was out Man of the match and on another day we get beat 6 or 7.

Getting beat by City there is no shame, losing because you don’t try and win is poor.

If people think that’s acceptable at home then they have much lower expectations than me.

Not a game that will define our season but an opportunity to bloody City’s nose and Nick a point missed.

Got the result I expected but hoped for more from the performance.

Sorry lads I bolloxed it right up today, only managed to get a stream 2nd half. Was looking forward to us nicking another when 45 seconds in bang 1-1. FMOB rest is history I must have jinxed it!

Still thought we looked like a team compared to last year's shambles. Definitely improved after Declan with money well spent. I think Moyes is moving Bowen to striker and Kudus to RW to get him more goals and improve his value to sell next summer to Klopp (they will offer big money if Sala goes Saudi) if he doesn't sign a new contract, same as Declan making him Captain allowing him to get more forward and get more goals.

Sorry how is this “poor management”????

“Poor management to concede within 45 seconds of our own fucking restart. “

What the fuck could Moyes have managed differently to avoid this? Stop blaming the manager for every fucking kick of the ball.
